The quick answer

Dragon Head unlocks after you learn 35 other Mystic Skills. Raising one skill through 35 ranks does not satisfy that requirement. Check the learned-skill collection, finish incomplete reward claims and include the movement and general categories when reviewing what you still need.

Count learned skills, not upgrade levels

The unlock condition refers to learning different Mystic Skills. Rank increases and tier breakthroughs improve a skill you already own; they do not create another learned entry. Similarly, collecting a Martial Art or Inner Way is progress in a different system.

Open Develop → Abilities → Mystic Skills and inspect the categories individually. Look for locked entries with an acquisition hint. A collection plan built from those hints is more useful than buying extra materials for the skills you already use.

Build a short list from different unlock types

Unlock typeUseful checks
ObservationLeaping Toad, Honking Havoc and the bell route for Lion’s Roar.
Quest rewardBlinding Mist, Ghost Bind and Touch of Death.
Chest or dungeonCloud Steps, Wolflike Frenzy and Ghostly Steps.
Boss study or storyFlaming Meteor and the separate Tian Ying skill conditions.
Movement progressionClaim earned exploration rewards and check learned flight skills.

These are examples of places to check, not a promise that every entry is immediately available to a new character. Choose the missing skills closest to your current region and story progress. Finish one acquisition before travelling across the map for the next.

When your count looks high enough but Dragon Head is locked

  1. Confirm you counted only Mystic Skills, not Martial Arts and Inner Ways.
  2. Check whether scrolls or rewards are still waiting to be learned or claimed.
  3. Reopen Dragon Head and read its current acquisition condition.
  4. Inspect locked categories instead of counting upgraded ranks.
  5. Finish any remaining quest handover associated with a missing skill.

The count should be checked against the learned state in your own menu. A guide list can include unavailable entries, alternate names or skills already counted elsewhere. Counting names on a website is not the same as owning them.

Use the unlocked attack during a real opening

Dragon Head is an offensive burst skill with a substantial attack animation. Its protection during casting should not be read as unlimited invulnerability. For an initial trial, choose a known boss recovery window or a controlled ordinary target.

Our suggested check is whether you finish the attack without taking a costly trade and still have the resources for your next defensive action. Unlocking a dramatic skill is not automatically a reason to replace a defensive option that keeps your current fights consistent. Exact damage and breakthrough values should be read from the current skill panel.

Common questions

Do 35 rank upgrades unlock Dragon Head?

No. The requirement is to learn 35 other Mystic Skills, not to make 35 upgrades.

Do Martial Arts count towards the requirement?

They are a separate ability system. Use the Mystic Skills collection rather than adding weapon arts or Inner Ways to your total.
