Find the man imitating a frog
Travel to General’s Shrine and look beside the shrine area for the NPC crouching and mimicking a frog. Speak to him, then follow the encounter’s observation prompt. The scene itself is the landmark: you are looking for a person learning from an animal, not a weapons instructor inside a dojo.
If you cannot start the observation, check the nearby NPC interaction first. Standing near an unrelated frog elsewhere on the map does not trigger this particular lesson.
Complete the observation timing
- Begin the frog observation when prompted.
- Watch the timing indicator rather than pressing repeatedly.
- Use the displayed input at the gold prompt.
- Continue until the learning meter is complete and the skill notification appears.
- Open the Mystic Skills menu and equip Leaping Toad.
Use the button displayed for your control scheme. A video may show a keyboard or controller input that differs from your bindings. A missed input is a timing issue; it is not evidence that you need to buy an unlock item.
Understand the backflip, lunge and finisher
The sequence begins with a backward flip and continues into a forward lunge. Recasts apply Toad Venom and lead to Golden Toad Crash, an area knockdown. Follow-up activations spend additional Vitality, so plan for the sequence rather than only its first input.
Our suggested drill is the opening movement followed by a defensive response, then a separate attempt that adds the recasts. Watch where each stage leaves you relative to the target. Against resistant enemies, do not assume the knockdown will give you the same free follow-up as it does against an ordinary foe.
