The quick answer
Yaksha Rush comes from the Tian Ying story quest. Free Morph requires the Challenge encounter: deflect the phase-two spinning kicks until the eye meter fills, then defeat the boss. Simply clearing the story or killing the Challenge boss quickly does not satisfy that learning condition.

Choose the right Tian Ying encounter

The encounter takes place in the Halo Peak campaign. Complete the story route first so its repeatable Challenge is available. Do not substitute a different multiplayer encounter merely because the boss name matches.
Fill the eye meter before ending the fight
- Enter the Challenge version and progress through the first phase.
- In phase two, find the eye-shaped learning indicator beside the boss health bar.
- Wait for the travelling spinning-kick sequence.
- Deflect the kicks and check that the indicator gains progress.
- Repeat that response until the meter is full, then complete the remaining fight.
Other successful deflects are useful for surviving but do not necessarily advance this particular lesson. Use movement in the eye meter as the evidence that you answered the correct attack. Avoid a large damage burst while the meter is still incomplete.
You can make an attempt about learning rather than speed: stay alive, wait for the spin and compare its rhythm with your inputs. There is no need to guess a fixed number of deflects when the game provides a completion indicator.
Why a victory can leave Free Morph locked
The two common causes are the wrong encounter and an unfinished meter. A story clear awards its own progression; a Challenge clear only fulfils Free Morph’s condition if the required attack was studied successfully.
If your damage skips the useful phase too quickly, ease off and let the kick pattern occur. If the timing is the problem, review the difficulty options available to you and use any permitted assist that helps you recognise the cue.
Understand the skill you have learned
Free Morph launches a susceptible target into an aerial kicking sequence and ends with a downward impact. That control behaviour is useful to recognise, but it is not a promise that every boss can be juggled. Keep enemy resistance and the surrounding fight in mind.
Try it when the target is already vulnerable and you can see the other enemies nearby. Our recommendation is to learn where the animation finishes before adding it to a longer sequence; a successful launch is less useful if another enemy hits you during the follow-up.
