Unlock the damage fan
Track Inkwell Fan from the Martial Arts acquisition screen to its Qinghe sanctum. Older descriptions associate the location with Silver Needle; follow the named art's marker so you do not confuse it with Panacea Fan's healing unlock. Complete the infiltration and observation objective to learn the technique.
Equipping a fan item alone does not switch your skills. Check that Jadewind Shield and Peak's Springless Silence appear in your active kit. If you see Cloudburst Healing, you are using Panacea Fan.
Establish the condition before pursuing
Jadewind Shield provides a backward movement and wind barrier, with limits against bosses. Peak's Springless Silence and Forsaken Fame can establish the launch or Lingering Bone conditions used by the fan's follow-up. Moon Shatter Spring is the pursuit action; its enhanced form depends on the appropriate temporary state.
The May 28 change made Lingering Bone independently sourced. Apply your own mark rather than assuming another player's mark enables your personal sequence.
A reliable way to learn the inputs
Our suggested drill uses one ordinary enemy first. Apply the setup, observe the state, then press the follow-up. Once you recognise the ordinary sequence, practise the empowered version. Keep the steps slow enough that you can identify which action changed the skill prompt.
Repeat against a boss only after understanding that a boss need not visibly fly into the air. Read the mark and skill response rather than waiting for the same body animation you saw on a humanoid enemy. Treat a missing condition and an unavailable cooldown as separate problems.
Use the wall as a decision, not a habit
Jadewind Shield creates space, but moving backward without looking can place you near an arena edge or outside useful range. Before pressing it, know where your character will land. Preserve a defensive option for the next attack rather than spending all movement simply to make the opener look faster.
The ranged label also does not mean every useful action operates from the far side of the arena. Position so the setup and follow-up can both reach. Repeatedly missing the second half of a combo is a positioning problem before it is a damage-stat problem.
Pair it with Vernal Umbrella deliberately
Vernal Umbrella adds its own persistent projectile and Blossom mechanics. Learn the fan's condition first, then add the umbrella's deployment. If both resource loops are unfamiliar, a long copied rotation gives you too many possible failure points to diagnose.

Choose what to improve next
If the follow-up works only occasionally, practise that trigger before changing gear. If it works but you are hit on landing, shorten the sequence or choose a different opening. Once execution is consistent, compare equipment over repeated attempts in the same mode. Arena and PvE observations should not be merged into one claim about performance.
