Thunderous Bloom: Mercyheart unlock and updated activation

Get Thunderous Bloom from Mercyheart Monastery and use its updated Martial Art Skill completion trigger.

Balance version unverified

The quick answer

Clear the Mercyheart Monastery outpost for Thunderous Bloom. Its updated trigger is completing a Martial Art Skill; the old instruction to sprint a fixed distance is obsolete.

Collect and learn the outpost reward

Thunderous Bloom is acquired through the Mercyheart Monastery outpost in Qinghe. Complete the outpost objective and collect its reward, then Comprehend the Inner Way. Visiting the monastery alone does not complete the unlock.

If the reward appears collected but the passive is unavailable, inspect the Inner Ways screen for the learn action and check the item name. A passive that has been learned still needs an equipped slot in the setup you use for combat.

Use the revised trigger

The May 28 adjustment changed activation to completing a Martial Art Skill. You no longer need to cover the distance described in older movement-based instructions. Finishing the skill grants Spring Thunder, which supports its eligible follow-up attacks.

That correction changes the practical sequence: perform a useful skill, let it finish, then spend the benefit on appropriate attacks. Running around an arena to satisfy an obsolete distance requirement adds movement without solving the current trigger.

Choose a useful follow-up

The updated effect covers the attack categories named in its description, including heavy and ballistic actions. Identify which attacks in your actual weapon kit qualify before rearranging your whole rotation.

For example, a ranged setup can examine the relevant projectile actions; a heavy-focused setup can examine its committed follow-ups. This is a compatibility check, not a claim that every hit receives the benefit or that the passive is automatically optimal for both builds.

Read tiers as separate features

Later progression changes stacks and duration behaviour. A base unlock and a high-tier demonstration can therefore have different available windows. Inspect the next tier’s text and decide whether it helps attacks you actually land.

An editorial upgrade test: name the trigger, name the attacks you expect to consume or use the benefit, and identify where those attacks fit safely. If any of those answers is missing, practise the loop before spending more Notes.

A simple diagnostic exercise

  1. Equip Thunderous Bloom and keep the rest of the loadout unchanged.
  2. Complete one Martial Art Skill against a suitable target.
  3. Look for Spring Thunder before using the intended follow-up.
  4. Repeat after the effect’s own restrictions allow another activation.
  5. Compare this with your normal rotation and identify unused benefit windows.

This exercise isolates activation; it is not a damage test. Do not infer a percentage improvement from one critical hit or from a different enemy type.

If it still seems inactive

Check that you completed the action instead of cancelling it early, that the passive occupies an active slot, and that you are looking for its named effect. Then check the attack category. A successful trigger and an ineligible follow-up can look like a failed passive unless you examine them separately.
