Outposts: first-clear rewards, repeat farming and Dragon Keys

Read outpost objectives, distinguish one-time rewards from Energy claims and choose a useful fortress to clear next.

The quick answer

Open an outpost’s map entry and read both its objective and reward preview. Clear each useful new location for its first-clear reward, then decide separately whether to spend Energy on repeat loot. Some Qinghe outposts award a Dragon Key once; repeating them does not recreate that first-clear reward.

Choose a location by the reward you need

Outposts are occupied locations with completion objectives, enemies and reward chests. A nearby fortress can also be involved in a quest, so look at the tracked objective as well as the map icon. Clearing enemies for one purpose does not necessarily finish every task associated with the place.

Before travelling, name your goal: an unclaimed Dragon Key, exploration progress, a quest step or repeatable equipment. That goal determines whether a new outpost or an already cleared one is the better use of your session.

First clear and repeat loot are different

Reward typeHow to treat it
First-clear rewardOne-time completion reward for that location.
Repeatable chest rewardCheck the Energy cost and current loot tier before claiming.
Quest rewardFinish the associated objective and any final dialogue.
Dragon Key in the first-clear previewCollect from an eligible new clear; do not assume it repeats.

The repeat chest converts Energy into its listed loot. A historical screenshot of a higher-level player’s chest does not establish what your own current tier will drop. Inspect the preview before committing resources.

Clear the objective methodically

  1. Activate a nearby travel point and track the outpost.
  2. Read any listed sub-objectives before attacking the nearest enemy.
  3. Locate ranged threats and a safe approach through the camp.
  4. Complete the required encounters or interactions.
  5. Check the objective counter, then collect the appropriate completion reward.

If the final reward does not unlock, look for an unfinished objective rather than circling the same empty courtyard. A remaining enemy may be on a platform, inside a building or beyond the first arena. Use the tracker to narrow the search.

Three early first clears to check for Dragon Keys

Tiger Fort, Gourmand’s Grove and Bloomveil Monastery are documented Qinghe first-clear sources for Dragon Keys. Compare their reward previews with your completion state before choosing the next stop.

Use the key for a Martial Art destination you have already selected through Obtain. Collecting a key and spending it at an unrelated dojo can leave you short for the art you actually wanted. If these first clears are already claimed, inspect the introductory Skill Theft quest and available breakthrough rewards instead.

When a repeat clear is worth your Energy

Repeat an outpost when its listed rewards advance a current goal and its difficulty is comfortable for you. Compare it with the Campaign or Sword Trial reward you could claim using the same resource. A fast run is useful only if its output is something you need.

Stop after reaching the item or material target you set. Do not continue solely because the camp is easy to repeat, especially if you are close to unlocking a higher reward tier. Keep enough flexibility to spend Energy on that new tier when it becomes available.

Common questions

Do repeat clears give another Dragon Key?

The named Qinghe sources award keys as first-clear rewards. Repeating the location does not renew that one-time reward.

Why can I clear a camp but not get the loot I expected?

Check the objective, first-clear status, chest claim cost and reward tier. A combat clear and an eligible reward claim are separate checks.
