The quick answer
Open Wandering Paths → Challenges → Sword Trial, select an available challenge and inspect its entry and reward rules. Sword Trial supports teams of up to five. Check your role and Energy before starting; defeating a boss does not automatically mean every reward claim is free or still available.

Select the actual challenge you can enter
Sword Trial is a group challenge category with individual encounters and tiers. Open the entry you intend to run and read its level, progression or other access conditions. A newly added trial can require more progression than an older one under the same menu.
If an entry is locked, use its displayed requirement to identify the blocker. Character level, Solo Mode breakthrough and Martial Mastery are different progression checks. Repeated matchmaking attempts will not bypass an unmet entry condition.
Queue with the loadout you intend to use
Check your equipped Martial Arts, Inner Ways and Mystic Skills before selecting a role. If you intend to heal or tank, make sure the saved plan actually contains that role’s tools. Changing a label does not teach a loadout the skills it lacks.
Tell a learning group if this is your first clear. Before the pull, agree on any assignments the encounter needs. The official Dungeon Guide button in the Sword Trial interface provides encounter-specific instructions and images; use it to learn the selected boss rather than guessing from another trial.
Prioritise the required action over a perfect rotation
A successful run needs each player to respond to markers, targeted effects and encounter objects. Watch the arena as well as your skill bar. If you are assigned a mechanic, complete it even when your damage window is active.
- Find your assigned location or role before combat starts.
- Leave unsafe areas promptly instead of finishing an unnecessary cast.
- Use the encounter’s interaction prompt when required.
- After a failed attempt, identify the first missed mechanic and agree on one correction.
This page covers joining and preparation, not every boss’s solution. Use the guide for the specific encounter selected in your client.
Check the claim rules before and after the run
Ordinary repeat equipment rewards use Energy. The displayed amount can depend on the selected claim or reward option, so read the confirmation rather than assuming every run costs the same amount.
First-clear rewards, special chests and weekly allowances can follow separate rules. Do not treat “Sword Trial is repeatable” as “every reward is unlimited.” Inspect each reward’s remaining claim count and conditions. If you want equipment, confirm the current tier and possible drops before spending your available Energy.
Troubleshoot the specific failure
| Problem | Useful check |
|---|---|
| Cannot queue | Selected trial’s access requirements and party eligibility. |
| Wrong role or skills | Active saved plan, equipped arts and matchmaking role. |
| Group repeatedly fails one phase | Encounter guide, assignments and the first failed mechanic. |
| Cannot claim equipment | Energy balance, selected reward cost and eligibility. |
| No extra weekly or special reward | That reward’s separate remaining allowance. |
After the clear, check the reward interface before leaving. If a group member is still claiming or sorting a required interaction, give them time to finish rather than immediately starting the next run.

Common questions
Is Sword Trial the ten-player raid?
No. Sword Trial uses up to five players; Hero’s Realm is the ten-player activity.
Can I repeat it for unlimited free equipment?
No. Repeat equipment claims use Energy, and special rewards may have their own limits. Read the selected reward panel.
