Get the Letter of Initiation
- Reach the Sect system’s level-10 requirement and complete Echoes of Old Battles.
- Return to Northern Vow Ruins, east of Battlecrest Slope in Qinghe.
- Interact with the drink beside the large red wine jar in the memorial area.
- In the chamber, perform the Yanyun Oath and take the letter behind the statue.
- Track the initiation and inspect its deadline before collecting the drinks.
The letter asks for nine wine types within nine days. Follow the remaining time shown on the quest; changing the world clock is not a reliable substitute for understanding that deadline.

Buying a bottle and consuming it are different steps. Check progress after each new drink instead of using nine copies of one wine. If a skill drink does not count, the wine carried by The Buddha Hand near Mount Wuwei provides a physical-wine fallback through Celestial Seize.
Win the trial at Heaven’s Pier
At 9/9, follow the initiation marker to Xiang Dinghua at Heaven’s Pier. Play the drinking contest, match the displayed timing prompts, then speak to him again. Winning the minigame alone does not replace the final membership dialogue.
If the counter is complete but you cannot join, check whether another sect is active. If the initial jar has no interaction, check Echoes of Old Battles and your tracked initiation before searching for a different entrance.
Check the sect’s ongoing duties
Raging Tides tracks Battle Will and a weekly drinking requirement. Leaving group combat activities prematurely can cost sect value. Before entering a long group run, make sure you have time to finish it; joining this sect does not change the rest of the party’s objectives.
The sect supports spear users, but membership is not required to practise every spear Martial Art. Choose it because its duties fit your play, not because you assume your weapon stops working without it.
