Pitch Pot: steady the aim, use Drunken Precision and build a streak

Control Pitch Pot’s moving reticles, use its aiming skill, handle double targets and understand how Resolve affects the challenge.

The quick answer

In Pitch Pot, move your aiming circle into the target and keep it aligned while the throw charges. Use Drunken Precision when available to help recover your aim. Higher Resolve makes the aiming challenge more forgiving; for double-circle stages, watch both targets instead of following only one.

Read the challenge before beginning

Use an NPC’s Pitch Pot interaction, then inspect the entry terms, controls and required result. The activity asks you to manage a moving aim indicator; it does not use the ordinary bow’s aiming rules.

During the first round, identify which circle your input moves and which area it must occupy. Follow the displayed control mapping. With standard keyboard controls, movement uses WASD; controller play uses the stick.

Hold the overlap long enough to complete the throw

Move the aiming reticle into the target and maintain the overlap while its progress fills. Large last-second corrections can carry the aim straight through the target. Our suggested practice is to use a small correction, briefly release the input and observe the drift before correcting again.

A momentary overlap is not necessarily a completed throw. Watch the progress indicator rather than assuming that passing through the target once is enough. If alignment breaks, stabilise the next attempt instead of making an even larger correction in the opposite direction.

Use Drunken Precision when aim becomes difficult

Drunken Precision appears near the lower-right controls and improves aim recovery. Activate it with the displayed skill input when available; default keyboard controls use Space.

Our suggested use is the part of the round where you repeatedly lose alignment. Compare one attempt using the skill at that point with an attempt where you used it immediately, then keep the timing that helps you complete the difficult throw.

Account for both circles in harder stages

Some stages introduce two aiming circles and target areas. Follow both overlaps and their progress. Continuing to stare at the first completed alignment can leave the other target unresolved.

Successful consecutive throws improve the scoring streak. When you are close to a required score, a controlled successful throw can be more useful than rushing another attempt that breaks the sequence. Read the actual score requirement rather than assuming every NPC needs a perfect round.

Improve Resolve if the aiming window remains too tight

Resolve affects the size and movement of the Pitch Pot aiming challenge. Higher Resolve makes it more forgiving. Madiao is one activity that can improve Resolve; consult your Exploration Attributes panel for the stat and available development routes.

If the same opponent remains difficult after you understand the controls, compare your Resolve and return later. A harder duel is not proof that the basic instructions failed, and an easier opponent is useful for learning the drift before attempting tighter targets.

Common questions

Why does briefly crossing the target not score?

Maintain the required alignment while the progress indicator fills; momentary overlap may not complete the throw.

Why is one NPC much harder than another?

Check the challenge conditions and your Resolve. Tighter or double-target stages need more control than a basic round.
