Coins: reliable sources and fixing an upgrade shortage

Find ordinary Coins in Where Winds Meet, use String of Coins boxes correctly and calculate an upgrade budget without confusing Coins with Commerce Coins.

The quick answer

For ordinary Coins, check unclaimed quest and exploration rewards, guild objectives and any Coin containers in your Bag. The Season Shop’s String of Coins provides a direct exchange when you need a top-up. Confirm the exact currency on the blocked upgrade first: Commerce Coins use a different balance.

Identify the exact cost before starting a farm

Open the upgrade that is blocked and read every cost line. You may be short of Coins, a material or both. Write down the Coin gap so you know when you have earned enough; collecting an arbitrary large amount can take you away from a more useful progression task.

Open Bag → Money Bag to check ordinary Coins. If a merchant wants Commerce Coins, use that currency’s own sources instead. A similarly coloured purse or coin icon can otherwise send you through the wrong activity.

Claim money attached to unfinished progression

Quests, exploration activities and guild weekly objectives are useful places to inspect for unclaimed Coin rewards. Look at nearby tasks you were already planning to complete. Opening a chest or finishing an activity can also advance another collection objective, making the trip more useful than an isolated money run.

The reviewed activity list includes Meow Meow, archery, music, Pitch Pot and riddles. Read the reward for the particular instance rather than assuming every replay awards the same amount. First-clear exploration rewards are not an unlimited source.

Use a Coin box rather than only buying it

Inspect Coin containers in your Bag and read their Use action. Purchasing or receiving a container can leave the value inside an item until it is opened. Check your balance after use instead of immediately buying another bundle.

The Season Shop offers String of Coins as a direct conversion from the listed currency. Read the contents, price and remaining stock. Different shop sections can sell similarly named bundles for different resources, so identify the exact listing.

Buy only the top-up your next decision needs

For a hypothetical upgrade costing 18,000 Coins when you hold 11,500, the shortfall is 6,500. If the specific box you are inspecting contains 1,000, seven boxes cover it and leave 500. Those are illustrative values; use the amount shown by your own upgrade and box.

Before converting a capped currency, compare what else you intended to buy with it. Our suggested priority is to cover a useful immediate upgrade, then stop and reassess. Buying every available Coin bundle can consume the budget for a limited item you needed more.

If rewards stop, check the activity’s allowance

Repeatable modes can have shared or activity-specific reward limits. A successful clear does not prove that another Coin payout remains. Read the reward preview and weekly progress before assuming the activity is broken.

Some NPC money-bag interactions can also yield Coins, but taking an item can have consequences. Do not treat theft as a universally harmless income shortcut; read the interaction and the wanted system before committing.

Common questions

I bought a Coin box. Why has my balance not changed?

Check whether the purchase placed a usable container in your Bag. Read its contents and use it, then recheck the wallet.

Is there one unlimited Coin farm?

Do not assume so. Quest and exploration rewards can be one-time, and repeatable activities can have earning limits. Inspect the specific reward before repeating it.
