The quick answer

Finish Gleaming Abyss to obtain a Longevity Fruit Seed. At Tiger Fort, investigate the sleeping white deer and speak to the praying man nearby. Offer a Longevity Fruit at each of two shrines during Zi hour, plant the seed, advance a day and investigate the deer’s resting place after speaking to the passerby.

Start near Tiger Fort

After Gleaming Abyss, look southwest of Tiger Fort for the resting white deer near Twinbeast Ridge. Speak to the praying man northwest of the fort, named Lu Sheng or Lu Shan in different English references. Check that the Longevity Fruit Seed from the campaign is in your inventory.

If the grove’s earlier Encounter is still unresolved, finish its healing and mushroom sequence before retrying the deer interaction.

Find both Longevity Fruits

FruitWhere to look
Wraith VillageEnter the house north of the Boundary Stone and search upstairs.
Gleaming Abyss entrance areaAt the seated Buddha/colossus near the northeast entrance, burn the blocking branches or vines with a fire arrow and collect the fruit.

The seed is not one of these offerings. Confirm you have two Longevity Fruits before beginning the shrine circuit so you do not confuse a missing item with an incorrect time condition.

Visit both shrines at Zi hour

  1. Go to the stone shrine at Twinbeast Ridge, south of Tiger Fort and east of the deer’s resting spot.
  2. Set the clock to Zi hour and offer one Longevity Fruit.
  3. Travel southwest toward the second shrine on the shoreline, south of the deer’s area.
  4. Check that it is still Zi hour and make the second offering.

There are two different ritual stones. Repeatedly using the first shrine does not replace visiting the shore. If an offering prompt is missing, check the clock, the fruit inventory and which shrine you already used.

Plant the seed and finish the deer investigation

Return to the praying man and use the soil patch in front of him to plant the Longevity Fruit Seed. If you planted it earlier, keep that progress and finish any missing offerings. Advance a full in-game day, then speak to the passerby beside the grown tree.

Finally, return to the deer’s former resting place and investigate the spot. The deer being gone is part of the resolution; the ground interaction closes the tale. The listed quest rewards include Echo Jade, Qinghe Exploration, Coins and experience.
