The quick answer

Void King ends the Gleaming Abyss campaign. Learn the scythe strings, evade gold ice volleys and expect a faster second phase. After winning, continue to the secret reward room.

Reach the correct encounter

Follow Mysterious Colossus into Gleaming Abyss and complete its underground mechanisms. Void King is the campaign’s arena encounter, not an enemy wandering across Moonveil Mountain’s surface.

Use the dungeon walkthrough if the sealed doors or deer mechanisms are blocking access. This page covers the solo campaign fight; coordinated group versions can add duties that do not belong to the first story clear.

Make the first phase a timing lesson

The scythe has both long wind-ups and quick follow-ups. Learn where a sequence actually ends before committing a charged attack. A boss turning or pausing briefly is not always a recovery window.

Stay at a distance where you can read the weapon. Long retreats can invite more ice projectile pressure. If you are learning a ranged weapon, avoid treating maximum distance as automatically safest.

Separate scythe pressure from gold projectiles

ThreatPractical response
Red scythe commitmentTime a deflection or evade if you cannot read the impact
Gold ice volleyMove laterally and dodge the release; blocking is not the answer
Ground slam and waveAccount for the ground effect as well as the weapon impact
Continuing spin or stringWait for the final swing before beginning a long punish

The useful distinction is attack type and timing. Dodging at the beginning of every animation can leave you recovering when the actual hit arrives.

Reset expectations for the second phase

The second phase increases pressure and extends the scythe sequences. Keep the good spacing from phase one, but reduce your attack commitment until you recognise the revised endings.

An editorial learning goal is to reach the later phase with enough healing to observe one complete unfamiliar string. That may mean accepting a slower first phase. A clear understanding of the new sequence is more useful than a fast opener followed by an immediate defeat.

Turn Qi breaks into progress

Use deflections you can perform reliably to work toward an Exhausted opening. When the execution opportunity appears, take it rather than spending the whole opening repositioning or searching through skills.

Heal in a confirmed recovery window when needed. Do not attempt a speed-clear strategy while the basic two-phase encounter is still inconsistent; those are different goals with different tolerances for risk.

Collect the room beyond victory

Finish the campaign interactions and inspect the secret room after the boss. Bitter Seasons is associated with that room’s loot, so leaving on the victory screen can leave a useful reward uncollected.
