Find Qiu Yuehai southeast of Moonveil Peak
Look for the Skill Theft tutorial near Moonveil Peak rather than travelling to a weapon sanctum first. Qiu Yuehai introduces the observation mechanic. The tutorial becomes available at character level 8; if it is not offered, check your level and the tracked exploration objective.
The lesson may appear under the alternate translated title Rightful Acquisition. Use the NPC and location to identify it. A different title on an older walkthrough is not evidence of a second skill you need to obtain.
Use the hiding point and watch for the gold cue
- Accept Qiu Yuehai’s lesson and move to the large rock between him and the practising martial artist.
- Use Wind Sense to locate the observation position if the interaction is hard to see.
- Start Skill Theft from cover and follow the on-screen input cue.
- Respond when the timing indicator turns gold; do not repeatedly press through the inactive cue.
- Finish the lesson and its remaining conversation, then inspect Veil of Stillness in your abilities.
The task is observation from the marked position. Fighting the person you are studying does not substitute for completing the timing sequence. If the minigame is not starting, reposition at the hiding point before changing controls.
Stealth reduces detection; it does not remove patrols
Use Veil before entering a watched area. Keep track of which way guards face and move between cover. Wind Sense can still help you read patrol awareness while you plan the approach.
Entering direct combat ends the benefit. Walking straight through a guard’s view can also expose you. Our suggested approach is to pause outside the patrol route, watch one circuit, then move while the guard is turned away. Activating Veil only after you are surrounded defeats the purpose of the skill.
Pair the approach with the right follow-up
Touch of Death supplies the takedown option; Veil helps you reach a suitable position. They are separate unlocks, so a quiet approach does not automatically create an execution on every target. Look for the actual takedown prompt before committing.
Veil is not a normal damage skill with a chain of combat breakthroughs. Do not buy upgrade materials simply because another Mystic Skill uses them. The practical gains here come from timing your approach and understanding detection.
