The quick answer
Learn Soulshade Umbrella at its Kaifeng post-station training area, then use its hovering support effect alongside Panacea Fan. Floating Grace and the persistent umbrella are different skills.

Follow the Soulshade acquisition route
Soulshade Umbrella is the healing umbrella on Silkbind Deluge. Track its Skill Theft destination from the Martial Arts menu, commonly labelled Soulshade Umbrella Post Station. The Kaifeng route leads into a building and down to the training area; reaching the outside of the building is not the end of the unlock.
Follow the infiltration and observation objective until the art is learned. If you have acquired an umbrella item but cannot see the healing skills, inspect the selected Martial Art. Vernal Umbrella is the damage style and cannot stand in for Soulshade's healing kit.
Separate the two support buttons
Floating Grace supplies a group damage buff and a heal. Echoes of a Thousand Plants deploys the hovering umbrella, supplies sustained support and generates Dew over time. During that deployed state, you can work with the hidden sword or switch weapons; using the special skill in the relevant stance can recall the umbrella early.
The May 28 balance adjustment made Floating Grace's damage bonus depend on whether Panacea Fan is equipped. Do not use an old flat percentage to compare a full healer pairing with a hybrid.
Make the deployment useful
Deploy when allies can benefit through the upcoming encounter section. If the group is about to travel, split up or become unable to attack, save deliberate buff timing for the point at which it helps. This is a decision about the fight, not a rule to press every support skill at the start of every pull.
Our practice recommendation is to deploy the umbrella, swap to Panacea Fan and watch both the persistent effect and Dew. Then return to the umbrella and deliberately recall it once. Recognising the difference between a weapon swap and an early recall prevents accidental downtime later.
Use the fan for specific emergencies
The umbrella supports the ongoing fight; Panacea Fan gives you more direct control over a particular teammate's recovery. Watch the party panel while moving, and position yourself where your support remains relevant. Standing safely but too far from the people who need healing solves only half the problem.
Pale Petal interacts with an already Exhausted target. Treat that as a conditional opportunity, not a reason to ignore an ally in danger. Offensive contributions should fit around the healing job you joined the activity to perform.
Diagnose disappearing support
| Observation | What to inspect |
|---|---|
| Umbrella returns immediately | Did you use the recall input after deployment? |
| Fan resources feel constrained | Was the persistent support active through the useful window? |
| Buff differs from a video | Check whether Panacea Fan is paired and which patch the video used |
| Ally remains in danger | Use direct targeting and check range instead of relying only on automatic support |
Choose upgrades after identifying the job
Read Mending Loom for the umbrella’s dedicated passive, Restoring Blossom for critical-healing support and Esoteric Revival for revives. Do not spend a selection chest solely because another healer has a high-tier passive: first identify whether your difficulty is sustained healing, emergency response or simply executing the controls.
Keep a short record after a difficult run: which mechanic caused the emergency, where you were standing, and which skill was unavailable. That gives you a concrete adjustment for the next attempt and is more informative than changing several Inner Ways together.
