The quick answer
Defeat Yi Dao in Dream in Flames to learn Breaking Point. Its early effect rewards Critical hits on Exhausted targets; later tiers alter how stacks are obtained and maintained.

Unlock it through Dream in Flames
After Chapter 1, return to ruined Blissful Retreat and interact with Yi Dao’s sword to enter the dream encounter. Complete the route and defeat Yi Dao, then collect Breaking Point and Comprehend it in Inner Ways.
The boss guide covers the access route and duel. Once the passive is learned, place it in the active loadout before judging its effect; a collected tome is not an equipped benefit.
Two conditions matter at the base unlock
The early interaction requires an Exhausted target and a Critical hit. Ordinary hits against a target with Qi remaining do not demonstrate it. Disintegration stacks then provide a short offensive benefit.
This makes the passive sensitive to timing. If the target’s useful vulnerable window ends while you are still preparing, the theoretical benefit may contribute little. Prepare the weapon’s resource loop before the opening where possible, then use attacks you can actually land.
Later tiers change the question
The progression includes longer stack duration, a less restrictive exhausted-target trigger, a larger stack limit and eventually a Perfect Dodge route to stacks. These are distinct stages. Do not expect the dodge interaction merely because you have comprehended the base art.
| What you want | What to inspect |
|---|---|
| More reliable early activation | Critical activity during Exhausted windows |
| More time to use stacks | The duration-related tier |
| Stacks outside an ordinary Qi-break setup | Whether the later dodge feature is unlocked |
| A larger maximum benefit | Stack cap and your practical ability to reach it |
Evaluate a real window
For a proposed practice check, use one repeatable boss and observe the passive immediately after a Qi break. Compare the time spent building stacks with the time available to attack. Keep your weapon sequence consistent so you can identify the passive’s contribution.
Do not delay a necessary execution or defensive action solely to pursue a perfect-looking stack count. The purpose of the passive is to improve a useful window, not to make the rest of the encounter revolve around its icon.
Decide whether to invest
Breaking Point naturally interests players who can create and exploit vulnerable windows. If your present problem is surviving long enough to reach one, a more dependable defensive or resource option may help first. Revisit the choice once the encounter and weapon loop are consistent.
