The quick answer

Qianye is the Blissful Retreat boss in Qinghe’s Moonveil Mountain. Bring Meridian Touch for the prompted aerial interruption, dodge her golden wave attacks and use deflections against readable scythe strikes. Her first health bar is only phase one: the later arena alternates between red melee pressure and a more evasive white form.

Prepare for two different arenas

Continue the For Whom Does He Return story objectives to Blissful Retreat. Equip Meridian Touch in an accessible slot and refill your medicine before the battle. The first story encounter includes Yi Dao’s help in its opening phase; the later arena requires you to manage the attacks yourself.

Our recommendation is to check your familiar weapon pair and Medicine Chest before changing builds. If you consistently reach the second phase with no recovery left, practise the opening without spending every charge to force damage.

Phase one: distinguish sweeps, waves and the roof attack

SequenceAnswer
Red scythe sweepTime a deflection to the swing, then take a short punish.
Golden ranged wavesEvade across their path or through a gap; do not stand still attempting to parry them.
Thrown scythe followed by a plunging roof attackAvoid the returning blade, then use Meridian Touch when the interruption prompt appears for the plunge.
Vanish and reappearance at your flankTrack the reappearance before attacking. Stay ready for another hit from a new angle.

The prompted interruption knocks her down and prevents the slam’s follow-up pressure. Keep the skill ready for that sequence instead of spending it simply because its cooldown ended.

Phase two: learn the red form’s final hit

The red form favors longer scythe combinations. Deflect the readable hits and watch for the end of the chain before committing to damage. She can delay a forward movement before releasing quick sweeps, so an early reaction to the wind-up can still be punished.

Our practice goal is to identify one chain you can defend consistently, then attach one short punish to it. If your attempt fails on the follow-up, remove the extra attack you inserted between hits. Meridian Touch has another prompted interruption opportunity during a major charged sequence; watch for the cue.

White form: preserve visibility and dodge space

In white form she vanishes, relocates and attacks rapidly from awkward angles. Focus on the moment she reappears. A well-timed precise dodge creates a brief opening; chasing her previous position can leave you swinging while the real attack arrives behind you.

Watch your health through the transition and keep room for an evade. After her crashing attack, be wary of the outward ground effects rather than rushing straight into the center. A ranged hit is an option while you wait for a safe approach.

She can return to red form. Our first-clear priority is to survive the evasive period and resume controlled damage when the moves are easier for you to read, rather than forcing the same attack sequence in both forms.

Finish the story handoff

Complete the scenes and follow-up objectives after the battle. Finishing For Whom Does He Return awards the Echoes of Oblivion tome. Continue the main story’s travel handoff for Kaifeng access.

Common questions

Did the second health bar mean my first clear failed?

No. The later arena is part of the encounter, with red and white forms to manage.

When should I use Meridian Touch?

Use it for the displayed interruption cue during her eligible charged attack, including the first phase’s plunging roof sequence.
