The quick answer

Begin The River’s Fury in Eternal Solitude Hall at Fishwood River. Give an anomaly to the Eccentric Elder and bow three times. Underground, use Tai Chi to redirect water into wheels, keep pressure plates active with statues, and repair the two broken Dragonheads with the Hetu and Luoshu fragments.

Open the secret passage

Track Jianghu Legacy 09 in Kaifeng’s exploration side stories and enter Eternal Solitude Hall near Fishwood River. Collect the Dusty Spirit Tablet from the right side of the hall, give it to the Eccentric Elder, then perform the bow interaction three times at the altar. Enter the passage that opens.

First pools and the Hetu Fragment

  1. Below the hall, stand on the slab to start the Dragonhead’s water stream. Catch it with Tai Chi and send it into the wheel on the right.
  2. Descend through the drained route, then swim through the lower underwater passage.
  3. Place the small statue on the next pressure slab. Redirect its water into the wheel across the pool to raise the water and reach the gate.
  4. Pull the gate lever. At the next mechanism, notice that the Dragonhead is broken.
  5. Dive through the opening near the Boundary Stone and follow the underwater route to the Hetu Fragment. Return and repair the Dragonhead.
  6. Trigger the repaired stream and redirect it toward the wheel by the gate. Descend into the drained area and continue through the narrow passage toward Dragon’s Mound.

Separate the three jobs: the plate starts water, Tai Chi transports it, and the wheel changes the room. If there is no stream at a broken Dragonhead, timing Tai Chi differently will not help; find the fragment first.

Dragon’s Mound and the linked gates

  1. Take the left route from Dragon’s Mound and climb to the upper mechanism. Pull its lever and redirect the slab-triggered stream into the wheel.
  2. Go through the left passage, collect the movable statue and leave it on the marked pressure plate.
  3. Return inside and direct water into the wheel that opens the gate. From the overlook beyond it, redirect water to the lower wheel.
  4. Use the marked leap points to cross the newly accessible route. In the next room, place the upper statue on its slab and activate the wheel to open the ground-floor gate.
  5. Go through, circle up the ramp and pull the shortcut lever. Keep the statue in place while redirecting water through the upper-gate sequence.
  6. Open the final gate, collect the Luoshu Fragment from the table and use the nearby lever to complete the return route.

Repair the final altar and finish the story

Return to the main altar’s broken Dragonhead and repair it with the Luoshu Fragment. Trigger the stream, move into a clear throwing position and redirect the water into the final wheel. The lowered water reveals the next altar sequence.

Speak to the Elder, inspect the altar and its Nuo Dance Mask, then follow the objective to release and defeat A’Yu. Continue into the Final Burial Chamber, examine the remains and finish the return interaction at the hall’s statue. The concluding bow closes the quest; do not leave immediately after the fish encounter.

The route awards the Red Fish Sword and exploration rewards. Check the quest reward screen for your account’s amounts rather than treating every chest on the route as a repeatable farm.

Common questions

Why does a Water Dragonhead not spray?

Check whether it is broken and whether its slab is held down. The broken mechanisms require the Hetu or Luoshu Fragment; later slabs need a movable statue while you redirect the water.

Does defeating A’Yu finish The River’s Fury?

Continue into the Final Burial Chamber, investigate the remains, then complete the final return and bow at the hall’s statue.
