Start the bounty and earn an invitation
- Inspect the Harvestfall Village bounty board near its Boundary Stone.
- Go to Riverside Station, speak to Old Jin and approach the Mirage Boat dock.
- Ask the Zither Keeper about boarding, then find Officer Nan, also called Southern Wayfarer, in the nearby building.
- Go onto the rooftop for his Wind Sense test. Observe the musician, the craftsman conversation and the discussion of the thieves.
- Report back and finish the musician sequence to receive an invitation.
- Advance to the following Xu hour, board and complete the washing interaction before visiting the second floor.
Gather the Mirage Boat evidence
After meeting Master Wuhen, speak to Officer Nan and collect the witness clues: Old Jin, Jin Zhongyuan, the Book Keeper and the mahjong conversation. Inspect the unusual fireworks and eavesdrop on the maids near the bow. A missing deduction card means one of these investigation steps still needs completing.

Use each newly created conclusion in the next pairing. Repeating the original two cards cannot finish the later deductions.
Follow the chase and recover the boat
Report to Officer Nan, visit the upstairs room and inspect the suspicious guests. Follow the ensuing Old Jin pursuit across the boats using the marked Cloud Steps points and defeat him. Continue the investigation after the Mirage Boat disappears.
The trail leads toward Mercyheart Town. Use Wind Sense at the suspicious ground and examine bamboo, ashes and fragments. Track the mysterious speaker, then return to Southern Wayfarer when the objective changes. Board the recovered boat for the Phantom Thief confrontation.
After the fight, complete the remaining Wuhen dialogue and final Old Jin meeting indicated by your tracker. The boss encounter is not a reason to skip the closing conversations.
If Officer Nan or a clue is missing
- Check whether the tracker means the shore meeting, the boat investigation or the later return; Nan moves with the story.
- For the first boarding wait, change the in-game clock to the required next-day Xu hour.
- For deductions, finish every witness interaction and inspect the fireworks before reopening the board.
- If an expected NPC fails to load after the correct stage, leave and return or reload once; old reports do not establish a universal current bug.
