The quick answer
Give Shu Shu’er one Parting Tears jar at Heaven’s Pier, then find him on the road near West Heaven’s Pier. The handover is a setup for the final encounter, not a genuine treasure map you need to decode.

Find Shu Shu’er at Heaven’s Pier
Look for the young man in green advertising his valuable information near Heaven’s Pier. Speak to Shu Shu’er and accept his request for Parting Tears in exchange for a supposed treasure map.
If you are using the Exploration menu, look under Wandering Tales. This is a short local investigation; you do not need to begin a dungeon or spend time searching the wider region for a named treasure vault.
Pick up one Parting Tears jar
Check the wooden boxes by the docks for the small wine jar. Another pickup is near the Lone Drinker’s bench and Bounty Board, beside Annals of Geography. You only need one jar for the handover.
Read the pickup name before returning. The surrounding wine containers are scenery and landmarks; the quest requires the actual Parting Tears item. There is no benefit to sweeping every wine location once you have it.
Hand over the wine and follow the story
Return to Shu Shu’er and give him the jar. He hands you a Killerblade notice instead of the promised treasure map, then runs away. This is the intended progression, so receiving a portrait or notice does not mean you chose the wrong wine.
Leave the handover spot and head toward the road around West Heaven’s Pier, in the direction of Blissful Retreat. Look for Shu Shu’er being confronted by two men near the small bridge. Use that scene as your destination rather than interpreting the notice as a new map puzzle.
Interact with the confrontation
Approach the group and trigger the conversation. Complete the encounter until the Wandering Tale completion notice appears. Reaching the area without starting its interaction can leave the story unfinished.
Open the completed tale in Exploration’s Wandering Tales menu and claim its rewards. The completion notification can also take you to that entry.
If the quest seems stuck
| Current state | Next action |
|---|---|
| Shu still asks for wine | Check that Parting Tears was collected, then hand it over |
| You have the Killerblade notice | Find the roadside confrontation near West Heaven’s Pier |
| You reached the group but nothing ended | Approach and use the scene’s interaction prompt |
| Completion appeared but rewards seem missing | Open the tale entry and claim the reward |
The useful checkpoint is the handover: before it, you need the jar; after it, you need the roadside scene. Repeating the original conversation or collecting another jar will not advance the second half.
