Start with the collector, not a generic shop
In Qinghe, find Qi Sheng on the route between Bamboo Abode and General’s Shrine. In Kaifeng, the corresponding collector is Bai Ji; his introduction begins north of Granary of Plenty near the Wayfarer camp. Oddity: Melody Hunt appears in regional walkthroughs for both, so match the NPC and region as well as the quest title.
Once the exchange opens, inspect the progression screen. The system uses regional Oddity materials and has ordered unlocks with some branch choices. It is not an unrestricted menu where any distant reward can be bought immediately.
What kinds of rewards matter?

Read the individual reward text. Do not assume every region has an identical sequence or that a reward mentioned in an older guide sits at the same point in your current progression.
Choose the next milestone, then count the gap
Look ahead to the nearest reward that changes something you currently do. If you are trying to use a Mystic Skill whose cost exceeds your Vitality capacity, a relevant capacity increase is a clearer target than collecting without a goal.
Count the available materials and the required steps along the route to that reward. Our recommendation is to plan a collection session around that total, then reassess. Completing one meaningful milestone gives you a natural stopping point and time to use what you earned.
Before collecting, add up the cost of every required node between your current position and the reward. A desired capacity node is not affordable merely because you hold its individual listed cost if earlier nodes still block it. After claiming it, return to the affected skill or resource panel and confirm the capacity change.
Keep regional materials separate
Qinghe and Kaifeng have their own Oddities and exchange progression. Having a large collection from one region does not mean it pays for the other region’s next node. Inspect the required material before travelling to a collector.
This matters most when you return to older areas. You may already hold useful materials but have forgotten to spend them, or you may be searching in the wrong region for the current requirement. Check the bag and exchange screen before beginning a dedicated farming route.
After unlocking a node, check the result
- Confirm that the materials were submitted to the intended regional progression.
- Read the reward you just unlocked.
- Use or learn any delivered item that requires an additional action.
- Revisit the related ability or character panel to understand the change.
- Note the next useful milestone before leaving.

Should I save all my Oddities for later?
There is little value in postponing a clearly useful available progression reward merely to keep a larger inventory count. Inspect any branch choice, then spend toward the milestone you want.
