The quick answer

Oddities are regional collectibles obtained through small environmental interactions. Watch for their nearby markers, use Wind Sense and learn each collection pattern. Bring the resulting regional materials to the appropriate Melodies of Peace exchange; finding them is only the first half of their progression value.

Find the interaction behind the marker

An Oddity marker can point to a creature, plant, nest or object hidden in breakable scenery. Slow down, use Wind Sense and inspect the immediate surroundings. If nothing is at ground level, rotate the camera upward and check the nearby branches, ledges or rooftops.

Stand somewhere you can follow what happens before starting the interaction. A creature that moves away is easier to track when your camera is already aimed at it. Some collection attempts reward observation and movement rather than attacking everything in reach.

Recognise common Qinghe patterns

OddityCollection pattern
Dagger GeneralBreak its hiding clutter, then collect the escaping insect.
Ironwing MantisInteract, follow it and collect it after it lands.
Whisper HiveUse a fire arrow from a distance before approaching the hive.
Enchanting LotusUse Wind Sense to trace the surrounding moth groups, then clear those targets with fire arrows before collecting the lotus.
Redmist BeetleLook above the red mushrooms and use nearby height to reach the insects.

For a Whisper Hive, prepare the fire arrow before standing beneath it. For an Ironwing Mantis, keep the moving insect in view after the first interaction and collect at its next landing point. The marker is the start of an interaction sequence, not a guarantee that pressing Collect once finishes it.

Build a collection route you can finish

Pick a compact area with a convenient Boundary Stone and work outward. Keep enough time to complete the interactions you start, then return through a different nearby path. That gives you a chance to notice elevated or concealed objects from another angle.

If one collectible needs a movement option or interaction you do not yet understand, mark it and move on. Do not let a single awkward jump turn a short collection session into repeated failure. A later traversal unlock or a better approach may make the same object straightforward.

Turn collection into Melodies of Peace progress

Oddities feed regional Melodies of Peace progression. Qi Sheng introduces the system in Qinghe. Use the exchange associated with the material’s region and inspect the next available node; do not assume every region accepts the same items.

Make delivery part of the route rather than an afterthought. Before leaving the collector, check the next useful reward and the remaining cost. A named target, such as reaching a capacity improvement, makes it easier to decide how much more collecting you want to do.

When an Oddity seems to be missing

  • Look above and below the marker instead of searching only at your feet.
  • Use Wind Sense to identify the actual interactive object.
  • Check whether the creature moved after the first interaction.
  • Look for destructible scenery, a nest or a linked environmental effect.
  • If using an external map, confirm the region and whether you already collected that entry.

Do not confuse collection with a permanent ordinary gathering node. Keep a record of completed locations when following a checklist, and verify the inventory or reward notification before assuming an interaction succeeded. A marker alone cannot tell you which stage of the collection sequence you have completed.

Common questions

Are Oddities only for completionists?

No. Their regional exchange supplies progression rewards. You can benefit from collecting convenient ones without attempting a complete location checklist.
