Reach the arena at night
Use the Desperation Ridge Boundary Stone in southeastern Kaifeng, then follow the route toward the area’s eastern edge. The Wolf Maiden encounter is associated with night-time, so change the clock if you have reached the correct place during the day.
Nearby NPC dialogue and the Fangs of Fury exploration quest can guide the approach. Track the active objective through the route rather than climbing straight toward a map icon from the wrong side of the terrain.
Keep the wolves in view while she is above you
The opening includes wolves attacking while Wolf Maiden remains in a tree. Their red-eyed lunges give you a defensive cue. Deal with the incoming attack before trying to aim at the boss above you.
Our recommendation is to move until the active wolves fit into a readable camera angle. Locking your attention onto one target while another leaves the screen makes the next lunge much harder to judge.
Do not carry the fast rhythm into the slow finish
Once she comes down, her close-range string begins quickly and then includes slower, charged hits. Repeatedly pressing deflect at the opening rhythm can cause you to defend too early against the end of the combo.
Watch the pause and the committed movement of her arms before responding. Her heavy red-glint attack is an especially important moment to preserve a deliberate input. Take a short counter after the finished string, then return to reading the next attack.
Follow the later pounce all the way to landing
Later movement takes her back toward the trees and into diving attacks. Keep the camera on the landing approach rather than assuming the retreat gives you time to drink medicine. Wait until the dive and its follow-up are resolved before using a longer action.
If you keep losing sight of her, stop attacking earlier and reposition in open ground. Our suggested learning goal is to survive one complete return from the tree without spending a heal. Once you can do that, add a punish to the recovery you can reliably identify.
