The quick answer
Finish Heavenfall to unlock Feng Ruzhi as a world boss at Verdant Hill Village in Roaring Sands. In that fight, a golden attack can steal your silk ball. Immediately defeat the guard holding it and recover it within 15 seconds; continuing to attack Feng Ruzhi can lose the encounter even while you still have health.

Check the campaign completion first
Feng Ruzhi appears during Heavenfall before its final River Master battle. Defeating that first encounter alone is not the whole world-boss unlock: finish the campaign and its closing dialogue, then return to Verdant Hill Village.
Make the stolen ball your immediate objective
- When the ball is stolen and the countdown appears, stop your boss-damage sequence.
- Locate the soldier carrying the ball and switch your target to that enemy.
- Use a short burst to defeat the carrier, then recover the ball before the countdown expires.
- Confirm the recovery objective has cleared before returning to Feng Ruzhi.
Our practical preparation is to keep a gap-closing or quick damage option available for the carrier. A long setup that works well against a stationary boss may be a poor answer to an urgent recovery target.
Healing alone does not resolve this failure condition. Watch the objective as well as your health bar; a healthy character can still lose when the timer runs out.
Prioritize the grab and delayed finishers
| What you see | Response to practise |
|---|---|
| Golden aerial grab | Evade as she descends. A forward dash under the approach is a useful option when the landing space is clear. |
| Two quick strikes followed by a red finisher | Stay ready for the third hit and deflect its actual impact. |
| Backward hop before a red strike | Wait through the delay instead of defending at the hop. |
| Cartwheel into Windwheel Breaker | Expect the delayed follow-up rather than attacking after the first motion. |
| Paired wind projectiles | Answer both projectiles with movement or timed defense before advancing. |
Her red finishers provide opportunities to damage Qi and build towards an Execute. Our recommendation is to end your own attack early enough to see the next tell; trading through the start of a golden sequence risks the ball objective as well as health.
Separate a combat mistake from an objective failure
If you lose while still alive, check whether the recovery countdown expired. If the ball stayed safe but a delayed finisher killed you, practise that move’s release timing. Those failures call for different changes: quicker target switching in the first case, a later defensive input in the second.
For a first clear, judge success by completing the recovery mechanic and surviving her patterns. Chasing a faster kill while repeatedly ignoring the carrier will not solve the actual blocker.
