Begin with Xue Ping outside Ever-Normal Granary in Kaifeng. Obtain Shen Yilun’s entry token, investigate the stores and use Fire Arrows on every blossom in each blocking cluster before the flowers regrow.

Get the token and investigate the stores
- Talk to Xue Ping outside the granary, then visit Shen Yilun at Autumn Dusk Dwelling.
- Give his token to the gate guard, Yan Yue, and speak with Li Shoujie inside.
- Inspect the marked grain-store clues, finish the confrontation and collect the contraption information.
- Use the outer scaffolding and tower route to reach the upper level. Clear the guards around the lift and descend.
Bring Fire Arrows before the underground section. Ordinary arrows cannot replace the burning interaction that several routes require.
Clear each flower group as one timed puzzle
Underground, follow the gate controls into the blue-lit passage. Dawn-to-Dusk Blossoms regrow, so first locate every flower in the blocking group, then burn them in quick succession.
- Burn the flowers beside the bridge to open the crossing.
- At the broken route, use the investigation prompt to identify the next landing. Burn its flowers before crossing, then repeat for the following landing.
- Continue across the wooden platform, rescue the worker from the guards and talk to him.
- Open the next gate and take the lift farther down.
If growth returns before the route opens, reset your aim and plan the whole cluster. Repeatedly shooting the first flower while searching for the last will waste the timing window.
Find the third flower above the mechanism
At the waterwheel, take the side route around its back and climb to the control. After activating it, burn the three flowers: check left, right and the overhead beam rather than searching only at floor level.
The next large area holds Shen Yilun. Use Wind Sense to locate the full group around him before shooting. Sweep from the closest flowers across the right-hand ground and up around the trapped character. Speak to him once the obstruction clears, then follow the secret route.
Complete both Zheng E phases
Approach the tree when ready for Zheng E. His second phase begins after the first health bar, so keep medicine and defensive resources available. Watch the projectile sequence before choosing the moment to close in.
After the victory, speak with him at the burned tree to finish that scene. The next objective uses game time rather than requiring you to wait two real days.
Return after two in-game days
- Advance two in-game days and revisit Autumn Dusk Dwelling.
- Speak with Zheng E about retrieving the notes.
- Travel to Apricot Village and find the house by the white apricot tree. From the southeastern bridge, look toward the tree and the larger of the two nearby buildings; inspect the table inside.
- Return to Autumn Dusk Dwelling. If Zheng E has left, enter and read the note he left behind to resolve A Promise Fulfilled.
If the journal still shows a follow-up, check the actual game clock and the house note before treating the quest as broken. Beating the boss and finishing the later promise are distinct milestones.
