Partnership is a bond with another player. Become friends, reach the Companions Intimacy tier, enter Online Mode together and form a party. Use Social → Partnership to follow the formation route to Shi Yimo at Crimson Cliff.

Check the relationship before travelling

The word Companions here is an Intimacy tier between players. It does not mean you should recruit a story companion or raise an NPC’s conversation affinity.
Build progress through shared play
Eligible co-op activities and relationship gifts raise Intimacy. Choose activities you both want to do, then inspect the relationship progress and any displayed allowance. A full activity reward does not necessarily mean unlimited Intimacy can still be earned from it.
Our recommendation is to check progress after one shared activity before repeating it for an hour. If the bar did not move, read the current eligibility and limit instead of assuming all time spent in the same area counts.
Form the partnership with Shi Yimo
- Open Social → Partnership and select Go to Partnership. Choose the intended partner when prompted.
- Enter Online Mode and form a party together.
- Travel to Shi Yimo near the Wishing Tree at Crimson Cliff in the Red Maple Forest area southwest of General’s Shrine.
- Choose Form a Partnership and have both players finish the prompted confirmation.
- Return to the Partnership screen and verify the recognised partner and available progression.
A normal party invitation does not complete this ceremony. If the option is missing, compare the requirements above with both players’ current state.
Read the partnership rewards separately
Partnership has social progression and themed rewards. Some conveniences also come from the underlying Intimacy tiers. Inspect the exact reward condition and currency in the current menu rather than assuming that every listed benefit activates immediately at formation.
You can decide whether to pursue a cosmetic, shared action or further relationship progress after the bond is formed. It is not a required step for ordinary co-op.
If you want to find a partner first
Shi Yimo’s Seeking Fate feature provides a player matchmaking route. Read its posting options and limits, then agree on the kind of activities you both want to play. Finding a prospective partner still leaves the friendship and Intimacy requirements to complete.
NPCs you befriend through Jianghu chat do not become player partners. Use the Jianghu Friends guide if that was the relationship you intended to develop.
