Before launching on the new platform
First identify the account that contains the character you want to keep. Open it on the device where the character already works and note the character name, UID, server region and linked sign-in method. This gives you a reliable reference if the other device opens an empty profile.
Cross-progression means continuing one account’s progress. It is not a merge tool for two independently developed characters. The safest point to link the destination platform is before its character-creation sequence.
Use the official account-linking route
- On the existing character, open Settings → Other → User Center → Link Account.
- Choose the supported platform account you intend to add and complete its sign-in confirmation.
- For the official PC launcher, use User Center → Link Account from the title screen.
- On the destination device, sign in through the bound account.
- Select the matching server region and confirm that the expected character appears before proceeding.
Read the account names shown in the confirmation. Being signed into the correct game account does not guarantee your browser or console is currently signed into the platform identity you intended to attach.
PC, PlayStation, mobile and Xbox
The official guidance covers Steam, Epic, the PC launcher and PlayStation. Mobile also supports the shared account, and the Xbox FAQ extends cross-progression to Xbox, PC, PlayStation and mobile. Xbox users can link through the official Account Center before first login.
The Xbox FAQ also states that character data does not transfer between server regions. If the destination appears empty, check the region before creating anything. Reinstalling the game does not turn one region’s character into another region’s save.
If both sides already have a character
Stop and inspect which accounts now hold data. Official guidance explicitly says that two accounts with existing character data cannot be linked together through the normal process. Do not keep making more characters in the hope that the desired one will appear.
Use the game’s support channel to explain the account state and ask what options are available. Include the original character’s UID, the two platforms and the error wording. Do not send passwords or verification codes, and do not assume unlinking or deleting an account will preserve purchases or make a merge possible.

After a successful link, make one small progress check on the second device, then verify it from the original device when you next switch. Confirm the same character rather than using a similar display name as proof.
