Divinecraft coatings: craft, equip and upgrade the right element

Choose Fire, Water or Poison Divinecraft, equip its consumable and match the active upgrade tree to the coating you use.

The quick answer

Select an element under Develop → Gear → Divinecraft, then equip its matching consumable under Develop → Quick Use → Divinecraft. Fire uses Fire Oil, Water uses Aqua Wax and Poison uses Toxic Powder. Match the selected upgrade tree to the item you actually activate.

Separate early coatings from the upgrade panel

Basic elemental coatings become available through early talents and world interactions. The expanded development panel unlocks at character level 56, after the relevant Solo Mode breakthrough. Using a coating early does not mean its full upgrade tree is already available.

If the Gear panel is missing, check character progression before searching for a dungeon with the same name. Divinecraft Dungeons are exploration challenges, not the menu where you assign your weapon coating.

Choose the effect you need

ElementConsumableCore role
FireFire OilAdds damage and Burning pressure.
WaterAqua WaxSupports Resilience damage, shield pressure and reducing enemy damage.
PoisonToxic PowderAdds Poison and Qi pressure, including an interaction with Iron Body Qi locks.

Our recommendation is to develop one element you regularly use before splitting materials across all three. A small improvement in three unused trees does less for your next fight than a relevant upgrade on the active coating.

Prepare and equip the consumable

  1. Open Brew Medicine and select the required coating recipe.
  2. For the documented recipes, prepare the matching Lv. 3 material: Fire Grease, Water Wax or Toxic Essence.
  3. Check the displayed cost and produce the quantity you need.
  4. Open Develop → Quick Use → Divinecraft and assign the matching item.
  5. Check Develop → Gear → Divinecraft to ensure the same element is selected, then activate the coating from its quick slot.

Environmental sources can also refill basic coatings. If crafting is locked, use the unlocked world interaction or read the recipe’s acquisition requirement. Do not assume owning an upgrade material means you already own a usable bottle.

Distinguish EXP from enhancement nodes

Element trees accept their own refining materials for development. Additional nodes can require specific crafted enhancement items, such as Warmth of Fire, rather than more generic EXP. Inspect the selected node and its material list before crafting.

If an effect seems absent, check four things in order: the coating buff is active, the equipped item matches the chosen element, the relevant node is unlocked, and the effect’s target or trigger condition is satisfied. A quick-slot assignment alone does not keep a temporary buff running forever.

Common questions

Why does Aqua Wax not receive my purchased Fire upgrades?

Water and Fire use separate trees. Select the same element as the consumable you intend to use.

Are Divinecraft Dungeons required to open the coating menu?

They are a separate exploration system. Check the level and breakthrough gate for the expanded Divinecraft development panel.
